Howdy, Harvesters! We hope that you have had a great start to the new year. This past week we have had several new social posts and articles uploaded to the club. Bird dogs, ducks, and trail cam critters are just some of the photos you’ll find on the social stream. There is also a new recipe in the articles section for a Venison dish paired with a bourbon peppercorn mussel cream sauce. If you’re anything like us, you still have plenty of deer meat left in the freezer to give new recipes a try.

Our favorite article this week comes from the National Wild Turkey Federation as they attempt a conservation goal that has never been achieved before. Their new article is titled, “1 Million Acres. 1 Year. 1 Mission.” The NWTF wants to positively impact 1 million acres of land with conservation efforts aimed towards wild turkeys. During the fiscal year of 2022, they were able to reach 772,000 acres. The article we posted on Harvester can be found with this link and will explain all of their goals and aspirations for 2023.

When hunting big game, there are a couple questions you need to ask yourself: What state do I want to hunt in? And which species of big game am I wanting to kill? An article from Remington shares which state is the best for specific game, and also has links to take you to regulations, laws, permits, etc. For example, Colorado is the best state to tag a big mule deer, but Maine is a great place to go for a moose kill. That article can be found here and is worth a look.

Other key articles to check out this week involve calling coyotes, winter kayak fishing, cold temp deer survival, and fishing forecasts. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for even more outdoor content.
