February 5, 2021Thanks to the leadership of Oregon Governor Kate Brown, Oregon conservation groups and timber interests have reached an historic agreement on private timber lands that will better protect the state's coldwater habitats and fisheries. TU's Oregon Director Chrysten Rivard was one of six representatives from conservation groups appointed by the governor to negotiate the accord.

February 5, 2021The U.S. Forest Service has finalized a new management plan—the first since 1986—that will modernize decision-making and planning for the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. The plan will support outdoor recreation opportunities and conserve important wild trout and big game habitat on public lands stretching across seventeen counties in central and western Montana.
