South Carolina is a state in the Southeast region of the United States, bordered by North Carolina to the north; Atlantic Ocean to the east; Georgia to the south and to the west. The state is managed by South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. One of the main focus of South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is owning and managing a total area of 1,380,000 acres which is almost 4.4% of this state is availible the outdoor recreaction. The primary purpose of these lands is the management of habitat for wildlife and provide opportunities for lawful hunting and trapping. Secondary recreational uses are permitted in accordance with the Game Commission’s regulations.
