Oklahoma is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States, bordered by Kansas to the north; Arkansas to the east; and Texas to the south and west. The state’s natural resources are managed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation
The department manages and protects fish and wildlife, along with their habitats, while also growing the community of hunters and anglers, partnering with those who love the outdoors, and fostering stewardship with those who care for the land. The department does not receive general state tax appropriations. License sales and federal Wildlife and Sportfish Restoration Program grant revenues are the main funding sources.
Per the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Oklahoma is home to 779,000 hunters and fishermen spend $1.5 billion annually and support 23,432 jobs.
