About
New Hampshire is a state in the Northeastern region of the United States, bordered by Canada to the north; Maine to the east; Massachusetts to the south; and Vermont to the west. The state’s natural resources are managed by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
The mission of the departments is to conserve, manage and protect the state’s natural resources and their habitats while providing the public with opportunities to use and appreciate these resources. The department’s fisheries divisions manage freshwater and saltwater species in state and interstate waters and protect and restore statewide aquatic habitat. The wildlife division manages and maintains the state’s game and nongame species at levels consistent with available habitat, and promotes the security of that habitat.
Per the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, New Hampshire has more than 141,000 sportsmen who contribute over $255 million to the state economy each year and support 4,000 jobs.
