Three years ago, The International Bowhunting Organization created the “Genesis” class to help bridge the gap from NASP®/IBO 3D to IBO 3D archery.  Since then, new 3D archers and their families have been traveling to participate in the IBO 3D archery trail.

Clay Tenney, a West Virginia native had suffered a traumatic brain injury and was told he would never participate in any sport again, however, Clay had a different plan in mind. After the encouragement of his NASP® coach he began to shoot a Genesis bow in school. Clay quickly became successful in NASP® competitions and when the IBO offered a class for the bow he was already shooting, it was a perfect fit.

Clay quickly adapted to real 3D archery and was able to pick up judging distance and adjusting aim on his Genesis bow very quickly and started to podium at IBO National events.  Clay went on to win the IBO Triple Crown in 2020, however after the Covid pandemic cancelled the 2020 IBO Worlds Clay didn’t get to experience an award ceremony for his accomplishments.
