About

Kansas is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States, bordered by Nebraska to the north; Missouri to the east; Oklahoma to the south; and Colorado to the west. The state’s natural resources are managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks.

The Department is tasked with managing, enhancing and protecting the state’s natural resources and created the Kansas’ State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) to support their mission.  This plan provides a comprehensive vision for managing Kansas’ fish, wildlife, and wildlife habitats. A coalition of more than 3,000 conservation organizations known as, Teaming with Wildlife, worked to keep species from becoming endangered by increasing state and federal funding for wildlife conservation.

Per the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Kansas is home to more than 527,000 hunters and anglers who spend $629 million annually and support 9,331 jobs..
