Kentucky is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States, bordered by Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio to the north; West Virginia and Virginia a to the east; Tennessee to the south; and Missouri to the west. The state’s natural resources are managed by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ mission is to conserve, protect and enhance Kentucky’s fish and wildlife resources and provide outstanding opportunities for hunting, fishing, trapping, boating, shooting sports, wildlife viewing, and related activities. Fish and wildlife resources in Kentucky are public resources held in trust by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including nearly 1,000 animal species found across Kentucky’s 25-million acres.
Per the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Kentucky has more than 713,000 hunters and anglers who spend nearly $2 billion annually and support 35,000 jobs.
